play lo-fi play hi-fi  Into The Sun - King Bru
Greetings and thank you for listening. I am a graphic and sound artist/designer based in rural Ontario where I work on electro-acoustic music and atmospheres. Most of the graphic and audio work fall under the Ialerta pseudonym although works have also been done and will be continued to be done under such titles as Kofax, King_Bru, and Manitou Den.
Why this name?
Ialerta (a-lar-tai)
I first encountered the name on a Cuban revolutionary poster in big bold red letters printed ‘iALERTA!’
And fell in love with more the visual aesthetic than the word or meaning itself. I’m not really a hundred percent on what the actual translation is but I’m pretty sure it’s something like ‘alert’ or ‘attention’.
Do you play live?
Not at the moment.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Definatley. I find it amazing that thousands of people you don't even know might have one of your songs that's not even on alabel or even
a CD.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Depends.
Band History:
1996-97: Started working with audio loops after losing interest in art and trying to form a industrial band in a small town.

97-99: Began listening to many different types of music and sound while continuing to develop my own.

99-02: Although many different projects were worked on countless relocations and computer crashes leave any work from this era pretty nil.

02-03: Slowly losing interest in working in the virtual environment I regain my love for graphic art and begin learning to play guitar again.

03-04: Working with a couple of bands and playing live rekindle my interest in composition and sounds as well as reminding me of the troubles of working in a band environment.

2004: Finally seeing my graphic and audio work coming to a interesting intersection Ialerta is born.
