Now functional, The Advanced page @ Soundclick pays host to exclusive Advanced material... i.e the material not likely to reach the CD tracklist.

The Advanced is really the brainchild of the one member - Alasdair Murden. Leaning towards the alternative side of electronic music, The Advanced aim to provide a show for the music. Covering all sorts of electronic sub-genres, The Advanced would be very hard to pigeon-hole.

The Advanced is plural to allow for the personel expansion on the project.

At 18, Alasdair Murden has a long career ahead of him.
Why this name?
The Advanced, self explanatory really. It gives more of a focused impression as to what the project is all about.
Do you play live?
The Advanced does the occasional live performance, normally in small venues. Finding a promoter to put on such a show is quite tricky in my area.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It is a great medium for a try/trial before you buy basis. I believe it allows people to connect with all sorts of different music thus broadening one's opinion in life.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
A signing with a label big or small is essentially what I am working towards. So long as the label realises that I'd like to focus on music and performance innovation rather than churning out pop records.
Band History:
Solo project going since the beginning of 2003.
Your influences?
Influences include the avant garde and experimental: Randy Greif, Throbbing Gristle and modern 'classical' music. Palatable sounds include Front Line Assembly, The Prodigy and Orbital. Bands include Radiohead.
Favorite spot?
Industrial complexes are very inspirational... brimming with atmosphere. It's a real cyberspace of machinery and sci-fi like architecture!
Equipment used:
A computer work-station for the sequencing. Digital recorder, synths, + mic for live.
Of course, it will all change for the better with money.
Anything else...?
Here's a small circle of musical friends and affiliates that if you have some time please feel free to check out artists: 'Resonance', 'DJ Mole' and 'Scarymoster' who reside within Soundclick too. Try 'DJ Subsonic' for some constantly innovative music!

Digital Asylum! Check this guy's synth pop/retro industrial works.
