Where She Wept
NEWS
Latest news:
James Alexander has left the band. While we are sad to see him go, we have moved on and have welcomed our new guitarist, Jay to the band. Jay brings a lot of experience and talent and we look forward to creating new material with him.

I've been working on the launch for our new web site: www.whereshewept.net. Only a week or so to go before I upload that baby. Hope you like it!

The music of Where She Wept is a dichotomy. It combines the beauty and sorrow of classical music with the ferocity and aggressiveness of death and black metal. A direct product of the European gothic metal scene, the band is highly influenced by the likes of My Dying Bride, The Gathering, Emperor, Opeth, Cradle of Filth and Dimmu Borgir.
The band consists of:
Tom: Vocals
Shelly: Keyboards
Jay: Guitars
Steve: Guitars
Mike: Basses
Paul: Drums
The current lineup has been in place for over 2 years and is seeking to be signed by a record label. Until then, Where She Wept continues to tear up the local music scene with their intense, theatrical stage show.
The band has 3 recordings to their credit:
> We are the Orphans of Heaven (2001)
> Dark Beauty and Desire (2003) EP
> The Erotic Portrait (2004) EP

Why this name?
The name is a reference to the destruction of the earth.
Do you play live?
We play live once a month on average. Our typical haunts are at Palmeri's Day and Night Club in our hometown of Niagara Falls, NY, and at the Cruise In in Lackawanna, NY.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It opens up doors of opportunity for bands like Where She Wept to introduce our music to a diverse audience. Who gives a sh*** about the major labels losing money - they've gouged enough out of us.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Abso-f***ing-lutely. We are currently submitting our EP's to as many labels as we can.
Band History:
Our website, www.whereshewept.net offers a far more eloquent biography of the band's history than I could ever hope to write here.
Your influences?
We are influenced by My Dying Bride, The Gathering, Emperor, Opeth, Cradle of Filth, Dimmu Borgir and Arch Enemy.
Favorite spot?
On stage.
