Chewitt
Its not as band as much as me and whoever Im working with at the time. I setup The Music Making Movement in 1995 and built a studio in 2000. We help lots of people make and record who didnt have the cash to pay for expensive facilities. Now Im living and working in Australia and collobarating with whoever like my stuff. Mostly, breaks, beats, reggae mixed with different vocal and musical genres.
Why this name?
AB is my initials. I was born cesarian section and my says I have been an Awkward Bastard ever since
Do you play live?
Anywhere, everywhere ... More into the production of a nicely polished final product, but have recently been performing in Brisbane (Reggae DJ, keybard player)
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It put power in the hands of the people as both artists and consumers
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes
Your influences?
Beats and melodies. From Lee Scratch Perry, Otis Redding, mowton soul to Ska, northern soul, to rap, hip hop, Drum'n'bass. Basical anything that can make people dance and enjoy themselves
Equipment used:
Buidl PC's to work with Cubase SX. Lots of VST instruments. Any synths I get my hands on. Also working Pro Tools on PC and MAC at the moment in Australia
