There is a connection between farmers and their land that runs deep in their hearts; a bond that cannot be broken. Throught life and death that connection remains.

About the song
This was the last song that was written for this new CD project. I thought I was finished writing but when this song came along I knew it had to be added to the album. It is actually parts of two songs that were put together. The first two verses were from another song that I had decided not to use and the chorus and last verse were new. Until I wrote the last verse I wasn't sure, but those words really tied the song together. It really solidified the emotional connection with the song. I fell in love with it!
Lyrics
The morning sunrise, colors gold and green
You’d have to be here, to know what I mean
With skies of heavenly blue, reaching east to west
A new day’s dawning, out from a good nights rest

Now I don’t want to be a rich man
I want a little bit on my plate
Every time I see a sunrise
I get a smile on my face
There’s a love and satisfaction
Knowing this old place is all mine
Open your eyes, could you leave all this behind

Now sometimes late at night, I hear the thunder roar
Horizon flashes with light, while good rains pour
That smell you never forget, with every breath you take
Brings life out from the ground, that only God could make

CHORUS

The organ played, so soft and low
I knew my time, had come to go
They lay my bones to rest, out upon that hill
But I think they’ll find, I’ll always be here,
‘Cause I can’t leave all this behind

CHORUS
