Boomslang is not a complex unit and has been described as "Godsmack meets Incubus with a dash of Disturbed" but their sound is all their own. From the inception of this hard-working, ball-busting southern Maine band, their main goal has been to do one thing, and one thing only; ROCK. That term itself has a different meaning for each person who interprets it, and when used in terms relating to music it seems to always have one accompanying word; HARD. In this current state of heavy music, there are few bands who can ROCK as HARD and on the same level as Boomslang. Unlike most bands who are constantly jumping on the current rap-core trend, Boomslang takes the straight ahead in your face approach. Their rhythms are steadily overpowering (supplied by primal drummer Doug Wood and four-string boomer Joe Stinson) and are complemented perfectly with the tasteful and nasty riffs of guitarist Jimi Leonard and his madman guitar counterpart Libz, And to top it all off, vocalist / lyricist / frontman Coopa has a limitless voice and captivating stage presence that holds you from start to finish. Boomslang will beat you down, call you names and help you back up for some more. In just short of a years time Boomslang has gained a great local following and has started to gain a very loyal following in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. They have played with a lot of heavy hitters including 3rd Strike, Vanilla Ice, Wolfpac , Seether and more.
Why this name?
Our drummer Woody came up with the name after watching a nature show on the Boomslang snake.
Do you play live?
Boomslang prides itself on their live performance and plays as much as possible. Anywhere , anytime and for any reason...if theres a crowd Boomslang will play!!!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think the internet will definitly help the small time bands promote themselves and get the music out to the public.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Hell Yeah!!!!!
