Billy Ransom is the difference between being a rapper and an artist,one who has mastered he's flow but yet can switch up to accomodate various beats.
Why this name?
Bill-y(meanin' money)Ransom(meanin' take). No doubt this name is a street alias.
Do you play live?
I started out from park benches, to schools, to clubs and events. Any possible way to put myself out there. I enjoy everything I put my head to.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It gives anybody access to materials that would of cost alot of money for the suppliers to ship out. This gives unsigned artists the chance to be heard.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I'm a business man, propositions are always welcomed at my table.
Band History:
From the first time I picked a hip hop tape in the mid 80's, it was clear to me that there was a movement going on. Now it's clear to me that I must be part of that movement.
Your influences?
Big Daddy Kane, Rakim, LL, Kool G Rap, Ice Cube, Mobb Deep, Nas, Wu-Tang, Biggie Smalls, Tupac, Jay-Z.
Favorite spot?
Canada cause it's really all I know.
