Chinese-American guitar and piano player and singer who gets ideas from the stuffed animals that sit on the cornerpost of his bed.
Why this name?
It's my name.
Do you play live?
I play on Telegraph Ave. and on UC Berkeley campus when I'm not in class or at work... and when I'm not scared out of my mind.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It provides music, and not the same top 40 they play 43 times a day, to more people. How often can someone listen to a variation to some Miles Davis or a live set of John Mayer on XM radio?
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Sure, why not? I need to put bread on the table after all... that hole's not gonna fix itself.
Your influences?
I really have respect for those who can sing and play their own instruments at the same time. Cheesy lyrics aren't a no-no 'cause sometimes you just need a song to dance to. I have a lot of respect for John Mayer, David Tao and Vince Guaraldi.
Favorite spot?
My minidisc player, my sketchbook and a nice flat surface.
Equipment used:
I use my Hohner guitar (it's green) and my voice.
Anything else...?
If inspiration is stealing... then I steal from everyone and everything.
