Victor Vega is an independent underground Latin singer who has established himself as one of New Yorks most vibrant, eclectic, talented and unique performer. Born in New York he also grew up in Puerto Rico, listening to all kinds of music and was influenced by the diversity of genres you can only be exposed to in a city such as New York and Puerto Rico. Victor made his debut at The Puerto Rican festival in the summer of 2000 in Newark New Jersey where he opened for Viti Ruiz. Since then Victor has performed in clubs and festivals in the east coast bringing crowds to their feet everywhere he goes and fans lining up to meet him, get his autograph and picture taken. His talent has allowed him to open, perform and share the stage with many well known and renowned artist such as Oscar De Leon, La Sonora Poncea, Andy Montanez, Ray de la Paz, Hector Tricoche, Paquito Guzman, Marvin Santiago and Viti Ruiz to name a few. He has been to asked to perform twice at the Atlantic City Jazz festival along with the likes of Cuba Gooding Sr. His major influences are the undisputed kings of salsa Richie Ray and Bobby Cruz, Hector Lavoe, Ismael Rivera and Ismael Miranda among the Fania All Stars, Tommy Olivencia, Chamaco Ramirez, La Coroporacion Latina, Dimension Latina, Frankie Ruiz, Rey Ruiz, Gilberto SantaRosa and El Gran Combo. Other pop singers such as Cyndi Lauper, Madonna, U2, Brian Adams, Heart, Celine Dion, Green Day and Nickelback to name a few. Victor's music has taken him places where many only dream to reach. Even though venturing in such waters is a very difficult task, it is not impossible. He has accomplished more than he ever dreamed of. Victor has faced much adversity in the Latin industry as this is a very unforgiving market where you are on your own. While many seek fame and fortune, Victor only dreamed of performing for the masses and he has become his dream. Victor produced his own solo experimental album, produced his own music video, topped radio charts and received numerous and diverse awards. His music has been heard in many parts of the US and the world via conventional radio and the Internet. Victor ranked no. 9 on American Idol Underground out of 50 in the world charts. To quote Victor when asked if he thinks he will be famous, he responds: I am happy doing what I love doing the most, performing. I never said I wanted to be famous, I just wanted to be a singer and my dreams have come true. Accomplishments - Victor is Youth Grand Marshall along Salsa Fania legend Adalberto Santiago in Atlantic City Puerto Rican parade. - Song Me Dices Que Te Vas ..1 on The Radio & Records Latin Charts. - Top ten artists on Sound Click.com. - Victor sings the Puerto Rican national anthem at the Long Island Chamber of Commerce September 2002. - Victor performs two years in a row at the Atlantic City Jazz and heritage festival where he was the opening act for Cuba Gooding Sr. Notable Performances - May 9, 2006 Victor performs live on Univisions Al despertar. - FEBRUARY 2005 Victor performs live on Telemundo's Primera Edicion. Program viewed by over one million viewers. - AUGUST 2004 Opening act for Oscar De Leon in Atlantic City. Over 10,000 in attendance. -JULY 2004 Opening act for Marvin Santiago and Paquito Guzman in Landis Park, Vineland New Jersey. Over 10,000 in attendance. - THROUGH September 2002 Performances at large venues in New York, New Jersey and Philadelphia including Side Street, E'Toile, Tony's of Worth Street, Tierras Colombianas, Club New York, DeJaVu, Club Millenium, Club Flamingo

Your musical influences
While also influenced by the modern style made famous by such artists as Richie Ray and Bobby Cruz, Hector Lavoe, and DLG but his main influences in salsa music are (in his words) "the undisputed kings of salsa" Richie Ray and Bobby Cruz.
