We are BLESS1. A crew of dancehall/soca dancers by trade. We produce mix dancehall and soca cds. We have selectors in the crew as well and we have made the move to produce both dancehall and soca riddims.
Why this name?
We were always fam but one day we were mimicking somebody and said "Bless up". We took Bless, and we added the 1.
Do you play live?
Our selectors play live. They love it, that is their trade.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Great exposure
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Under the right circumstances.
Band History:
Not much history, we dance, sing, dj, rhyme, etc. Between the whole crew, we really do it all.
Your influences?
Too many to name but to name a few.....Elephant Man, Vybz Kartel, Mad Cobra, Assasin, Bunji Garlin, Destra Garcia, Machel Montano, Red Plastic Bag, Beckett, Square One, Krosfyah, Nas, Gangstarr, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, K-mel, Crumbs, Rudy Goblen, Lego, Ken Swift......we can do this all day.
