The Cadavers are a "Dark Punk" band from Indianapolis, IN. They have 2 albums out, a self titled wich was released in 2000 and the second entitled "Suicide Fantasy" wich was released in 2002. They have played numerous shows in and out of Indiana along side bands such as "Sloppy Seconds", "SpySociety99" & "Bella Morte" just to name a few.
Why this name?
We got our band name from "Return of the Living Dead", there is a scene after the dead have come back to life and a cadaver is trying to break out of the freezer... "ITS THE CADAVERS THE CADAVERS!"
Do you play live?
Yes, we play live, we have played numerous shows in and out of Indiana. We love it, its great getting out there and throwing blood around, the crowed seems to really enjoy the show.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think the internet and mp3s change the music industry by letting bands from all over the world get heard and discovered so much more easily. Its a great thing to be able to put your music on a site for people to check out.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, if givin the opertunity to sign to a label we deffinatley would.
Band History:
On an abysmal summer day in 1998, abomination began to take form under the name of THE CADAVERS. The goal was to combine the best elements of Punk, Deathrock, and Black Metal, and to blend horror imagery with a chaotic performance. Add this dichotomy of blasphemous outbursts set against pounding apocalyptic music that sounds like it has been exorcised from the minds of deranged lunatics. That would be the best description of this depraved music. With founding members Scarecrow (guitar), Corpse (bass), and Carcass (drums) they began playing gigs with various singers from within the local Indianapolis punk scene. But it soon became apparent that none of these front men could match the intensity and forcefulness that this trios music created
And so it went until the sprint of 2000 when longtime friend and collaborator Dru was brought into the fold. August would find this line up in the recording studio working on their self-titled debut release. Halloween of the same year was also the introduction of a second female vocalist, Dementia, who would stay with the band for a two year stretch, and lend her voice to the 2002 follow up album Suicide Fantasy. This album would also see the enlistment of new drummer Craig Chaos. Replacing longtime drummer Carcass, who abruptly quit the band.

In late 2003, Scarecrow was let go from the band for professional reasons and replaced with new guitarest "Saint Cadaverous".

The Cadavers have been playing progressively bigger and more frequent performances, both in Indianapolis and abroad. Controversial interviews and violence at shows have not deterred the group from always pushing forward, with plans for more recording and touring in the near future.
