Perfusion
'Perfusion' is the moniker for this one-man musical juggernaut. I record all of my own material in the basement, after the kids are asleep! One track has a female backing vocal but all the rest is just l'il ol me. About 2/3 of the songs were done using ProTools computer based software and the others on the Boss BR 1180 free-standing workstation.
In 2011 I was honored to receive the Janesville Arts Council People's Choice Award for Outstanding CD/Song for "I Married the Prom Queen"...

Why this name?
'Perfusion' a largely medical term meaning 'good blood flow' carried the perfect balance between inuendo (without which it's simply not rock and roll) and a med reference to reflect the make-up of my old band mates. These included 2 physicians (including myself)and others in medically related fields. Now it's just l'il ol me.
Do you play live?
I perform a solo acoustic act as singer-songwriter and cover artist. I promise an engaging evening and that you'll hear a few things you didn't think you'd hear from a solo acoustic act. Songs by Smashing Pumpkins, Van Halen and 3 Doors Down in addition to the classic rock and folk we all grew up with ! I also play violin with the Beloit-Janesville Symphony Orchestra , The Rock Prairie Chamber Orchestra and fill in as fiddle player with Pink Houses, a regional Mellencamp Tribute band. Mostly I just wail "Coffee Jones" in the morning with the kids, the wife rolling her eyes all the while!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
NEVER!!! OK maybe :-)

Your influences?
I try to experiment with different genres. (genri?) I admire the lyrical content of Elvis Costello, the sincerity of Manu Chao, the orchestrations and energy of Angelique Kidjo and the overall mood, tone and groundbreak of The Beatles
Equipment used:

Music
A tongue-in-cheek celebration of the inking of our society!
A retro tribute to my wife, the eternal prom queen!
A peppy toe-tapper about always carrying your song with you. Wherever you may go!
An over the top, cry in your beer song about losing the girl. Keokuk, by the way, is a city in Iowa.
A slinky blues number about getting over a lost love and the struggle to convince onesself of the finality. Oh the humanity!
A song about what matters most!
An peppy number about finding your song. Funky reggae beat in the chorus.
A rock ditty with a catchy l'il chorus
An over the top emotive for which I had high hopes for the American Idol songwriting contest. Alas
Good 'ol fashioned 3 chord rock and roll!
A song about the two most important things we have. Our kids and our planet!
A pulsing yet laid back, ethereal trance track with some really cool sax.
A song about grabbing the bull by the horns, attitude and all!
From the love-gone-bad chronicles.
A bit of trance music with an infections beat and some over the top affected violin
An upbeat instrumental to start your weekend!
Yet another from the love-gone-bad file. The next one'll be good and upbeat. Promise!!
A touching lyric by Judi Morris set to an equally touching musical arrangement.
An instrumental experiment done in a short period of time using only software with all the parts played via keyboard.
The third in a series of birthday tributes to my wife! This one harkens back to the days when we ate salad and read the New York Times on a futon.
My first tune in ProTools. A fun little dance track that took about 8 months, most of which was spent learning ProTools!
A few basic questions to ask before you take the plunge!
