No solo's - an introduction to
THE JOHNSONS
Omer Adulam - guitar & vocals
Jacky Shraga - drums
Gili Rosenberg - bass
the idea : 2 musicians hook up with a singer songwriter guitarist to create a powerful rock trio.
Who we are?
Gili is a bored computer man in the day time and a bass/guitar player at night who claims that life is beautiful and still waiting for Led-Zeppelin to reunite.
Jacky, when not admiring Mike Bordin, is making a living using his musical knowledge, drumming skills and radiophonic voice. His plan for the future is not to make any plans.
Omer is an assistent engineer in a recording studio who doesn't have money for a psychiatrist, instead he writes songs.
Why this name?
We had a gig schduled and we needed a name really fast.
'THE JOHNSONS' seemed harmless...

Do you play live?
Playing live is really the best part in beeing a musician.
After building our material to a stage level we started playing live. we've played in big clubs , small clubs , very small clubs and in the smallest clubs you can find on earth.
Each show was didactive, intense, experimental, fun and helped a lot in generating our sound and feel.
Any special moments?
Many!! You should have been there...

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Hey , Who needs money? right?
I guess Mp3 is a good meter to success. if you're still an unsigned band you're thrilled of joy that your mp3s are out there. once you get signed it's changing into "heyyyy , they're ripping me off.."
Mp3 got its advantages and can be used to promote music instead of stealling it. but untill we'll find the hi-tech solution it will probably function as the "musician's enemy number one".
ideas?
anyone?

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
basically, hell yea !!
Major labels Got the marketing experience, the promotional experience, the sales experience, and lets face it - they got the money to execute all of the above......although sometimes a small label can serve your interests much better.
I'll tell you what we're gonna do , you send me those contracts and i'll let you know :)

THE JOHNSONS played allmost 30 live shows(this means a lot in israeli terms) and are currently working on their debut album.
A first taste from the album can be downloaded here: Over My Head

The writing is influenced mostly by singers-songwriters like Neil Young/Jeff Buckly/Tom Waits, But since we are three people in the band, each of us brings his little "attachments" from home.
