Since their difficult birth, The Furverts have (im)matured(un)gracefully. Grabbing influences from far and wide, they hope to bring the universe to total peace and harmony Bill and Ted styley with their heavyass punkmetalstonerrock tunes.
Why this name?
Merv and Amelia worked in budgens with a real "Furvert". We just thought that someone who's fetish was doing naughty things with teddy bears was funny.
Do you play live?
We play places around Gloucestershire at the moment. We live in the North cotswolds and are pretty isolated from any main cities. Our nearest big town in Cheltenham where we play occasionally. So far our highlights are: Supporting 4ft fingers at Cheltenham town hall, supporting massive 80's ska band "The selecter" at Gloucester guildhall and playing sell out shows in our home town.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
"Try before you buy" - is what comes to my mind when thinking of Mp3s. It's great that you pretty much find anything you want and sample it for free.
Everyone one will be affected by the rise in Mp3 downloads. More good bands will be heard and the fat record executives (who have scammed us all for years) will have to find more honest jobs. Long live Mp3...until something better comes along!

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
We'd just like a contract that wouldn't cripple us for the rest of our lives. It is my dream to be paid for being a furvert.
