the internet allowed new talent to expose themselves to a large audience. at the same time it 'hurt' the mainstream music industry because people were downloading and burning albums without paying. the internet both helped and hurt the music industry but i believe that true talent sells. i'd rather download (then eventually buy) an album off some indy-label artist, than spend money on a half-ass album when the songs are playing on tv and the radio all day anyway.
