Bend Sinister
NEWS
Troy has just finished his new addition, "Delay"- an eight song album which is the result of a bet that he couldn't record an eight song album- on which Sean does not appear....yet....but don't tell Troy that Sean said that last bit.

Bend Sinister is the result of the musical sparring of Sean and Troy, and occasionally one of them completely ignoring the other and recording a song the way they like it.
Sean can be seen at Reaxis.net, the website of the Boston band he is a part of.
Troy can be seen at Brown University, where he is in the Molecular Cell Biology Graduate program.

Why this name?
It is the name of a Nabokov novel. It's not clear why it was chosen.
Do you play live?
Troy and Sean drink and play live occasionally. Rarely in front of other people, though.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I have no clue, we just play music and hope for the best.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Due to other commitments, neither of us would join the other in a record contract.
Sean, however, would gladly sell his soul for the chance to distribute any music he's involved with.

Band History:
We began as friends, formed a band together(Troy on guitar, Sean on bass and back-up vocals) with a friend named D.J., who sang.
Years later, we sometimes collaborate and record, Troy generally on guitar and Sean generally on vocals. We also record songs by ourselves and exclude the other entirely, because we're artistic like that.

Your influences?
We're both in awe of REM, Dave Matthews, Radiohead, and Tool.
There are many other artists who we independently admire, such as Rush, Live, Our Lady Peace, Ani DiFranco, Mars Volta...

Equipment used:
Acoustic guitars mostly, recorded onto digital 8-tracks. We also will make weird noises however we feel like making them.
Anything else...?
We'd like to thank Kevin McEvoy, Sean's brother for playing violin on some of the tracks.
He is an artist from Long Island, and can be heard on the tracks from "Scotch and a Kitchen Chair", although he dislikes both scotch and kitchen accoutrements. Let us know if you'd like an encore appearance on a different track.
