This is music that tells stories of love, spirituality, pain, and struggle. Passion filled, hook driven songs that don't sound like everything else on radio.
It's Rock that incorporates dance rhythms, especially in the style of Timbaland (Missy Eliot "Get your Freak On", Tweet "Oops", Bubba Sparxx "Ugly"), to make the music flow with groove and breathe with life...not just PLOD along like a bad AC/DC imitation. Zen is awash with colors in all it's chord choices, some beautiful, some ugly, but all serve the song emotionally perfect. All of this is tied neatly beneath melodic vocal lines that melt into your consciousness and punch thru your resolve to hate anything new. Whether it's making an ugly mess or soothing the soul, in all, it's power loaded emotion embedded in sound.

Why this name?
Our name describes our feeling on stage.
Do you play live?
Los Angeles
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think it might actually be a good thing...we're not there yet...but once the record industry can no longer support itself, music will become the advertising for a band's live show...essentially, you release YOUR music YOUR way to get people to come see you live...not try to record a demographic pleasing blockbuster to sell soda. Which in turn, I think, is a good thing for listeners, in that, the variety that emerges from this senario is limitless. Plus this will put bands back in charge of their own careers...and only the well prepared and most talented will survive
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
unfortunately, yes. It'sprobably the only true means of reaching a mass audience at this time.
Band History:
Everything you'd really need to know is in the music...anything beyond that and you'll just have to come see us live.
Your influences?
Chris Cornell/Freddie Mercury/Jeff Buckley meets STP/Soundgarden/Foo Fighters with hints of dance rhythms and jazz progressions...but still at it's heart, ROCK
Favorite spot?
Los Angeles...only place I've ever been where you can look one way and see the ocean...turn around and you're looking at snow capped mountains. Inspiration is everywhere...the people, the place, the weather.
Anything else...?
