Why this name?
Say it to yourself a few times and the answer will become clear.
Do you play live?
Used to play live a lot. Less now. Could be more in the future.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The term: "Music Industry" is an oxymoron. Music is a gift from the gods to the meager humans. Excessive profiting from music is akin to sin.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
That would be an interesting conversation.
Band History:
See for full details. Taped Rugs projects include -ING, Disism, Herd Of The Ether Space, Turkey Makes Me Sleepy, The Magic Potty Babies, plus unique collaborations with artists throughout the world including Mental Anguish, Hal McGee, Bret Hart, Greg Segal, Big City Orchestra, Dave Fuglewicz, Jasun Martz, Regicide Bureau, Brian Noring, Homogenized Terrestrials, Ironing, Don Campau, Buzzsaw, Marcel Herms, Justynn Tyme, Dereck Higgins, River Cow Orchestra, oh well... I'll stop here, but there's lots more.
Your influences?
A combination of every sound you've ever heard with every style of music ever created. John Cage meets Karen Carpenter. Taped Rugs recordings have been compared to works by Frank Zappa, Robert Fripp, Todd Rundgren, Sammy Davis Jr., The Residents, Negativland, Kurt Schwitters, Tristan Tzara, Gong, William Burroughs, Jimi Hendrix, Tangerine Dream, and again I'll stop here.

Spots on rugs are my faves.
