Below the Belt is a alternative punk band out of Mountain View, California. All four members are seniors at Mountain View High School. They have played a variety of shows and many different styles of music. Below the Belt is: Scott Ibaraki (lead guitar, lead vocals, bass, percussion), Michael Doody (rhythm guitar, vocals, bass), Kevin Fujii (bass, vocals, keyboard, rhythm guitar), Ryan Brown (percussion, vocals, bass).

Why this name?

After starting with "four man trio," we decided there were too many others with the same name. We then went to "half past", didn't like it and then fell onto "below the belt". Any sexual inuendos in it??? Nah.

Do you play live?

We've played several shows at friends' houses, but probably the most memorable show was playing at Band Camp on August 13, 2003. There's something about 200 people getting into your music that gets the adrenaline going.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

The internet makes it a lot easier for bands to gain exposure. It helps us gain popularity away from home as well as making it easy for everyone to have access to our music.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

probably, depends on the situation and stuff

Favorite spot?

Kevin's living room or Scott's garage. or maybe in bed with Zero.
