The Pangea Pham is a combination of Tru Indeed, Storm Session, and Diogenes. Formed during Acuta’s early stages, Pangea’s plan since day one was to take over the rap industry, slaying all MCs who stood in their way and burying the outgunned competition with an avalanche of lyrical gems designed to paralyze them from head to toe. Tru Indeed, with their laid back, raunchy flows; Storm Session, with their smooth and cocky punch lines; and Diogenes, with his aggressive battle rhymes, together form an unrelenting, unstoppable force of nature intent on ripping mics worldwide. Listen and learn as the Pangea Pham tightens their vice-like grip on the game.
Why this name?
We are a group of seven individuals from different countries, experiences, and backgrounds brought together to make great music. We felt the name "Pangea" being the first original continent before it broke into the seven we have now expressed that for us.
Do you play live?
We enjoy playing live. We love the feed back from our fans. We do use live bands in some of our performances to show our versitlity. We have done shows all over Mass, and a couple in N.Y. We love being on stage and showing people our lyrical talent.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The inernet provides both signed and unsigned artists the opportunity to be heard all over the world. It helps create a form off exposure that evry artist wants. Artist Just want to be heard.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
It depends on how much freedom we have to do our own music. We are looking for distribution above anything else.
Band History:
Acuta Records is an independent record label based out of Boston, MA. Its CEO Jug and COO Frnchie established Acuta Records in 2001. Acuta means “never falling” in Hindu, and this is what the label is intending to do- never falling off, never stop in its goal to bring you the tightest in hip-hop. Acuta Records Is far from your one-dimensional record label. Acuta Records has made its mark as one the best independent labels coming out of Boston, Ma. It’s artists winning awards such as first place in mc battles and best performance awards at many venues taken place in Mass. Their focus is on genuine hip-hop. For the cream of the crop look no further. Your search for real hip hop is over.
Diogenes, a.k.a. Dio Gin, has been rhyming since he was thirteen. His interest in hip-hop dates back to the old school days. Around 1994, he started honing his microphone skills, writing poems and performing at spoken word spots across Boston. In 97,Gin began hanging around the underground scene. There he learned how to freestyle and battle with other up and coming MCs. In October 2001, he became a street team member of Boston-based Acuta Records. In January 2002, Diogenes was signed to Acuta. In March of that year, Gin made his performing debut along with The Pangea Pham. In December, Diogenes made his solo debut at Acuta’s 4th annual New Year Jam at The Middle East, a performance that strengthened his growing reputation in the local rap scene. Bear witness to hip-hop history in the making, as Diogenes and the rest of his talented crew begin their stranglehold on Boston, and beyond.
Cube and Jug bonded through their love for hip-hop culture and music. They both possess a distinctive sound and style, which complements each other perfectly, each one contributing to the overall flavor of their music. Expect the unexpected from these two late bloomers in the industry, who have honed and perfected their flows over the course of time, leaving the listener with nothing but razor-sharp lyrics and speaker-blowing beats. Tru Indeed’s uncanny style, word play, and performance will capture the likes of all, leaving all other pretenders to the throne in their wake. Songs like “Who It Be”, “Shoot The Breeze” and “Hot Shit” will serve notice that Tru Indeed is for real.
The names Tystorms and Session The General have been known on the Boston rap scene for a couple of years now. They are two of the latest weapons in the growing arsenal of Acuta Records, known mainly for their fierce flows and witty wordplay. Since their birth in 1999, StormSession have been banging out countless joints on the underground circuit, and are regularly seen on Strictly Hip Hop, a Boston based hip-hop show. “We’re trying to do this hip-hop thing the right way, Boston is not doing enough!” said Tystorms in a recent interview. “As far as the music goes, we’re trying to establish ourselves as artists who made a significant impact in the rap game, and we’ll be here until we’re respected as some of the dopest dudes to ever do it” proclaimed Session. “Basically, we ain’t leaving this bi*** until we’re finished eating” added Tystorms. “We’re nasty, people know that, if they don’t they’ll find out soon!” he continued. Once you hear what Tystorms and Session have to say, we think you’ll agree. People might mistake them for being arrogant, but truth be told every venue they perform in they rip.
