A Fallen October is one of the fastest rising emo/punk bands in the central valley. From their early ties in the local scene to their new full-length album this band is quickly winning the hearts of listeners. Ryan who joined the band about a year ago comes from the Anti-Domestix, a band signed to Cheetah Records, who also played many shows with such great bands as AFI and Disel Boy. Shelby, Cam and Steve are long time friends who have always been a part of the local music scene. The four of them together make for a distinct sound which is sure to grab listeners and not let go. Starting with the lyrics and ending with some of the most solid guitar playing around the sound of A Fallen October generates thoughts of love lost and broken hearts.
Why this name?
The band name came from having some tradgedy strike each one of us in the month of October. We felt that the mood surrounding October, what the month is, and what people think about when they hear October was the type of feeling we get when we hear our music.
Do you play live?
Yes, A Fallen October plays live. Mostly around the central valley and bay areas. Special moments include playing the Vans Warped Tour over the past summer.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
We think the internet has done nothing but good for the music industry. It has allowed many bands to put out there music and has allowed listeners the chance to expierence many different styles of music instantly.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
As long as we were able to play the music we've come to love, and for those who've come to love it.
