BLACK CAT BONE The Movie. A 21st Century Blues Comedy based on a true story.

An unsuspecting white man receives a piece of bone from a donor for a cervical fusion, bone graph operation. Through Cellular Memory, the personality of the donor transfers to the recipient. Shortly after the operation. Eddie Crowe turns into a blues singer. For no known reason he finds himself in a tattoo parlor getting a tattoo,a portrait of the late great blues legend Muddy Waters. He acquires the aka of Milky Waters. Eddie believes that bone came from a black blues singer that was on a mission to make his name in the blues. Milky Waters believes his doctor gave him a BLACK CATS BONE.
That is gist of the story which is a hilarious comedy, but there is also a tragedy in this story.

I won't go into much detail here but there is an unsolved homicide of a friend and fellow blues musician in my story. The victim was Walter Rhodes.I played drums in a band with him and he taught me everything i know about blues music. Walter was about to become famous at 50 years of age.He started playing guitar at age 9. In the early sixties he was Wilson Pickett's band leader and lead guitarist for 4 years. He was an Albino and he was technically blind. Playing music was the only job he knew. With his new electric blues recordings that won him the gig, he had just played the New Orleans Jazz Festival on the Main Stage that stars Irma Thomas The Neville Brothers and Dr. John also played on. I have those recordings that were given to me at his funeral. The music has never been released.Walter was killed 20 years ago. I want to record and sing some of his songs and put them on the soundtrack of the movie. Then everyone who watches the movie will know of the late great Walter Lightninbug Rhodes and his music. He truely deserved to be a BLUES STAR. There is one video of him on you tube on this link.

This video was recorded in Holland where Walter recorded 2 acoustic albums on the Swingmaster label that are still available for purchase on the Swingmaster website.

There are 4 songs in the audio section on the left including the radio recording and LA studio recording of the song FISHIN' ON THE CHESAPEAKE BAY. Give them a listen while you read.

This is the home of Baltimore Blues Singer/Songwriter Eddie Crowe and the song FISHIN' ON THE CHESAPEAKE BAY as heard on WQSR's Rouse and Company,Baltimore's #1 morning radio show at that time back in 2001 and on 98 Rock,Baltimore's #1 morning show with Mickey and Amelia and Spiegel in 2010.
In the ten years that passed from the time Steve Rouse put me on the radio till now I've been to a few places,Memphis,Las Vegas and Hollywood.I recorded some original songs in Los Angeles. I have a story to tell about my travels. That story has a good chance of being turned into a Hollywood Movie. I found a Hollywood movie producer from Baltimore. James G Robinson was born here where some of my story takes place. I sent the story and my cd to Morgan Creek Productions. It is being internally reviewed according to James Robinson assistant.

IMPORTANT UPDATE.....MORGAN CREEK.
I've been informed by Attorneys for Morgan Creek that they will not recognize me or my story unless it is submitted through and I am represented by an Agent. I've already begun that process. I've been thinking lately about who I'd want to play my part in the movie and I believe Kevin James ( King of Queens) could be the guy. I hope he can sing a little. I contacted his management company and told them all about whats been going on. They said they'd check it all out and see what,if anything they can do to help me. At some point this Morgan Creek thing had to happen. It makes perfect sense to me. Every star has an agent. Why not me if I'm trying to be one?
That's how it works. That's the only way it will happen.

And so the journey begins and the story unfolds.

Once the blues got a hold on me, I got the urge to travel. I spent a month in Memphis. The home of the blues. When I turned the corner and saw Beale Street for the first time. It looked like HOME. I sang with a lot of different bands all over Beale Street and in the clubs and parks. Too many cool things happened there including an encounter with the Beale Street "Gypsy Woman" She came up to me after I sang about 8 songs to end a show.. She smiled, pointed at me and told me "Success is in your future".
From there I went out to LA for 45 days and recorded some of my originals which I now have on cd. You can hear those recordings in my audio section on the left

Here is the title track lyrics for my movie soundtrack

I BELIEVE MY DOCTOR GAVE ME A (BLACK CATS BONE)

Well i hurt my neck about 15 years ago
hurt so bad it sent me right to the floor
it put me in such condition
had to call on a physician
and i believe my doctor gave me a black cats bone

now let me clear up what i'm tryin to say
i went to see a neurosurgeon one day
he thought that i was fakin
but when the m.r.i. was taken
he said son i believe you need an operation
and i believe my doctor gave me a black cats bone

he said to cure your ills you need a fusion
a donated bone is the bone that ill be usin
i said that'll be just fine
a bone bank bone or mine
but i believe my doctor gave me a black cats bone

i got a question bout that bone he gave me
dont get me wrong, the bone i got has saved me
i think that bone they used
has got me screamin the blues
and i believe my doctor gave me a black cats bone

TEN YEARS GO BY
WQSR,Steve Rouse,Maynard and the story behind the song "Fishin' on the Chesapeake Bay".

In 2001 when I was 46 years old I was working at Bethlehem steel as a Mechanic in the 68 inch hot strip mill. I wrote a song and sang it over the phone to Steve Rouse of Rouse and Company,.I just wanted to get his opinion of it. The song is called "Fishin on the Chesapeake Bay" Before this phone call I had never spoke to or met Steve Rouse. Steve liked the song and stopped me after singing 2 verses. He said, Eddie, hold on a second. I have Maynard here and he wants to play guitar along with you and we'll put you on the radio if it's ok with you. I said Hell yea thats cool So I started singing again and maynards playing guitar and it went live on the air. It was 9 am I was laying in bed reading the lyrics that i hadn't even memorized yet. So it happened It was real cool and that was it. Some of my friends heard it and called me to see if it was really me on there. It all went down real fast and I didn't even have time to or think to record it. It was over. I was happy with that. End of story.

Then, the next morning as I'm getting ready for work,I had the radio on as usual. The next thing I know,I hear my song playing on the radio again at the peak of the morning rush hour. That's when I lost my mind and I have not been right since. They played the song during rush hour every day that week making it part of their show. They sent me the recording of it on cassette and I took it to a local studio and had it put on cd to preserve it..That phone call and especially what happened the next morning changed my life forever. When they sent me the recording, they put the ball back in my court. It was then up to me to do something with it. It is the only thing i have been able to think about ever since it happened. I've been to Memphis,Las Vegas and Hollywood over it and now I finally have a finished product. It's just an ep but it's all I need right now. My band will be releasing our cd at a later time.

Back to the story.
I soon realized that there was not one single person on the planet that could help me.No one on the planet had been through what happened to me to my knowledge. No one could give me any advice.Sure there were famous people that had their music played on the radio but those people already had a finished product that they sent to the station for airplay.Once their stuff got played it took off and the rest was a walk in the park to Success. It was a serious case of putting the cart before the horse. I didn't even have a band together when it happened. I had never been a lead singer in a band although I did play drums. All that came after the fact but i did know I could do it.I had planned on doing that at some point in my life but the radio thing made it an immediate necessity. Now my band has been together 9 years and I sing 35 songs in a 4 hr show..All because of what happened to me.

After the radio incident the first thing I thought of was to use the internet to get the story out but I had never even turned on a computer and didn't know how to type.I still don't really know how to type but I get the job done and yes I know it's not perfect.I have some serious issues with it. I copied and pasted everything i wrote here into a site called GRAMMARLY and they said there are 183 issues with what I've typed here. Damn if I'm paying 19.95 for them to correct it. The first thing i learned is what email is and then went searching for anything i could find related to blues music since what i wrote is a blues song..There was a period during that time when I spent 20 hrs a day on the computer. For three months I didn't even leave the house. My whiskers started turning white, bleached by the light of the computer screen. I looked like a hermit. I was chain smoking cigarettes and

WE LOVE PLAYING "LIVE". IT'S WHAT WE DO BEST.
STRAIGHT OFF THE CUFF.
WE SEEK A NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL TOUR.

THE COOLEST GIG I EVER DID WAS WHEN I PLAYED DRUMS WITH WALTER "LIGHTNINGBUG" RHODES AT THE BALTIMORE MUSEUM OF ART THEATRE. I WAS LIVING IN NORTH CAROLINA AT THAT TIME AND HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO RETURN TO MY HOME TOWN TO PLAY WITH THE "LEGEND".

I'VE NEVER SEEN ANY OF THE BEATLES SHOWS LIVE.
I DID SEE GEORGE HARRISON IN THE AUDIENCE AT A SHOW I WAS PLAYING DRUMS ON BACK IN 1988.
I PLAYED THE WRAP PARTY FOR GEORGE HARRISONS MOVIE TRACK 29.
I SAT AT THE TABLE WITH CHRISTOPHER LLOYD AND SANDRA BURNHART DURING THE BREAK.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
