Making camp at the crossroads of Dayton, Ohio, 8-bit Revival have come together to conquer their tastes and insatiable hunger for quirk, pop, volume, noise, and rock. Equally obsessed with energy driven noise and emotionally driven melody, they pull, twist, and shove their instruments to craft compositions that are both catchy and intriguing. Familiar, but original. Songs that you feel like you've heard before, but are certain you havn't.
Why this name?
err.. umm... that's a little personal isn't it? I mean, we're not asking your parents why they named you, are we?
Do you play live?
we love to play. that's why we're really here.. we play around dayton, and we've been around the mid west and east coast from chicago to massachussetts..
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It certainly lets our music get heard by a much larger audience.. We don't have to launch a month long tour in europe to sell cds there now.. all it takes is a few online reviews and mp3s (not that we wouldn't love to play in europe for a month)
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
let's not get carried away, let's start a little smaller than wb, shall we?
Your influences?
results may vary: sonic youth, enon, braid, my bloddy valentine, wrens, devo, talking heads, elvis costello, the cure, brainiac, dinosaur JR, les savy fav,, i really have no clue.. we just take what we really like, be it subtle melody, exploding noise, body jerking rythm, and look for new ways to combine it all.
