On August 17, 1982 Cedric Vonzell Lowe Jr. was born. Raised in the city of angels with squares, gangbangers, and drug dealers he emerged from the bottom and is now surfacing to the top. Always influenced by sports at a young age he played baseball, basketball, football year around. Though his life wasn't the best and though he's been through life changing experiences he's currently walking through the fire almost emerging from the fire into the light. Music has always been medicine to Mr. Cedric Lowe. In 1992 at the age of 10 Cedric was influenced by the music of The Ghetto Boyz, NWA, and Dr. Dre. Reciting rhymes in class and memorizing his favorites songs which led to his first rhyme in 5th grade. From the westcoast he was influenced by the production of the RZA and the music of the Wu-Tang Clan as C.R.E.A.M. emerged onto the radio and changed his whole outlook on hip-hop. That was 1993 and at the age of 11 Cedric Lowe was making beats with his mouth making sure all the freestyler emcees and music to go along with their beats. By the time of 1996 Cedric was married to hip-hop and was listening to Dogg Pound, Pac, Jay-Z, Nas, Notorious B.I.G., and Redman. By this time the young 14 year old was writing rhymes but not reciting or memorizing. Just writing to get a feel of the music and to wonder if hip-hop was a future for him. To speed things up by senior year of high school Cedric Lowe was freestylin and writing 16 bar versus and wondering if sports or music would be the gateway to the future. In 2002 during football Cedric dislocated his knee and tore three legaments ending his football career. The young man decided to focus on school and the music part of his gateway came into full effect. After dreams of being a great producer and listening to some of the best artist and wondering who was making there beats and how much of an impact this beat had on the artist Cedric was introduced to Fruityloops Studio and Cool Edit Pro 2.0 and the rest is history.
Why this name?
I'm not a band I am a solo artist and producer.
Do you play live?
I've never played live but I have entered emcee battles and have won in front of a live audience.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet has seriously changed the music industry. It's a gift and a curse because it is now easier then ever to download artist albums without their consent and never have to buy cd's. The curse is that sells in music are going down and people are being sued and fined for piracy of music.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes I would sign a contract with a major record label but at the same time I would check out the independent labels and negotiate a contract that would get me major publicity and points on my record.
Your influences?
My musical influences are Jay-Z, Nas, Wu-Tang Clan, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Too Short, The LOX, DMX, Little Brother, Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Beanie Sigel, Gap Band, Stylistics, Quincy Jones, Dr. Dre, Just Blaze, Kanye West, 9th Wonder, Battle Cat, Soopa Fly, Daz, Dame Grease, Pete Rock.
