Why this name?
My name is Freddie Brown and that's what I use as my solo artist name. My true self and nothing more!
Do you play live?
I have performed all over the world and I love anyone who enjoys my sound. The very best special moment for me was when I performed on Paul Bowman's radio show in San Pedro, Ca.That was the night I sing an Ol' Eddie Rabbit tune called "Driving My Life Away". Everyone in the audience stood up and applauded my performance. It made me feel so up that all these folks truelly enjoyed my singing.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It offers a great opportunity for independent artists like myself to show off there talent and be able to promote and sell there tunes.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
You bet! It would depend on more on the deal and if I felt confortable with the folks there.
Band History:
I began my musical career playing music in central Texas and its surrounding areas, and developed my songwriting and performing skills at the venues in the Fort Worth Stockyards. I then relocated to Los Angeles where I was a featured artist at the Palomino, the D.J. Ranch, J.R’s and on Paul Bowman’s biweekly radio show. I formed my band "Freddie Brown & Night Crow" in 1994, and as part of that group I sang the lead and harmony vocals, played harmonica, and also played acoustic and lead guitars. I wrote the band’s original material, and recorded and produced the band’s music on my Wheatfield Records label. I now reside in Branson, MO. I am still writing songs and performing my single act in Branson, MO. and Nashville, TN. and wherever I am booked. God Bless!
