Monotype is not so much a band as merely one person masquerading as such, occasionly an assorted rabble of cohorts will aid and abet him in such thom foolery, but for the most part he is a lone rider leaving a trail of dust in his wake across the plains of this superhighway.

Why this name?
Good question.
Do you play live?
I have been known to make a furray into the manchester live circuit, but these sightings are rare. I was a member of The Draft which supported Death Cab For Cutie on their first outing to my fair city, but that is my only notoriety.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I'm not sure the music industry is quite ready to be changed!!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Well, Judas Iscariot sold his soul for less, he's always an inspiration! Really, when anyone knocks on your door you open it, their choice of words and phrase will dictate if you welcome them.
Band History:
I'm 25 years old and time is slipping through my ageing fingers. I have been recording my dittys since I was 17 in one form or another, and it has been a constant evolution since then.
I have watched all around me become successful in the meantime, nauseating I know.

Your influences?
Well, so many things inspire me musically or otherwise, I love the naieve rock and roll energy of Buffalo Springfield, the absurdity of Dylans venomous lyrics and the beautiful light to be found in darkness of the late great Elliott Smith's songwriting.
Favorite spot?
well, Chicago is nice this time of year but that's more because my fav person lives there. I guess the woodlands of prentag in wales on a decidedly cold winters morn comes a close second.
Equipment used:
an assortment of guitars, and the Boss BR8 to record on.
