I am a solo artist producing software only digital music.
Why this name?
AyeF Dee is another way of saying my initials AFD.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
the internet is a usefull showcase for unsigned artists.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, but only as a background artist.
Band History:
AyeF Dee started life as Alan Frederick Dewsall and it wasn’t until his 14th year (1980) that he tasted the sweet nectar that is music, working as a DJ in his local working men’s club.
In 1984 he joined a local cabaret band as sound manager but left after a year.
Alan’s love affair with music was put on hold as raising a family was no.1 on the agenda.
It wasn’t until the turn of the century that Alan returned to music and that was purely by chance, his son having brought an instant music software program home and Alan Installing it on his laptop, That was it, Alan was hooked on digital production and that is how he makes all of his tracks today.
Although Alan is not signed to any record label he has produced 4 albums himself.
Alan does not like to tie himself to 1 genre and has various guises he works under depending on the type of track.
Slightly damp bananas – Indie/rock
MK13 – Hip-Hop/RnB
AyeF Dee – Dance/Trance/Techno/Garage
7lr - Reggae
The first garage track that AyeF Dee produced was entered into an Internet competition and won! Which attracted local media coverage.
