Why this name?
Virginia Beach punk band, Past Out, derived it’s name from several sources: First being their humble start playing covers of top 40, oldies, and cartoon / television themes in punk rock style at bars and clubs in the Virginia Beach area – some songs you’d never expect to hear from a punk band, and secondly from the individual band members’ collective musical experience gained from their individual pasts. Don’t call them a cover band quite yet, though! After establishing a reputation with numerous local venues as a crowd-pleasing act, Past Out took to conjuring their own works. The end result - a veritable arsenal of original material that gets the point across and never says die!
Do you play live?
Past Out plays live shows around most of Virginia with plans to expand to east coast touring. As their influences spreads, Past Out's play area spreads as well.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet changes the music industry based on how much bands and listeners put into it. As a band, the internet is a powerful tool to advertise their existance. For listeners, the internet offers an easy way to access information regarding the whereabouts and the influences-- of a band.
