Wespen was founded on Sept 9, 2001. The band evolved over the years until now you never know what to expect next from the guys. Wespen is Stephen Dodge as the drummer, Jordan Eisenback as the bassist and occasional singer, and Dave Godfrey as the guitarist and singer. Wespen is based in Blacksburg, Virginia, home of Virginia Tech University.

Why this name?

Wespen is "Wasps" in German. While brainstorming for bandnames we looked in a World War Two book and saw an airplane with Wespen written on the side of it. It turns out there was a famous German fighter squadron called Wespen.

Do you play live?

Yes. We play at festivals and peoples houses. It is lots of fun.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

It helps spread the word, especially if you do all your promoting by yourself.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Yes.
