My Inner Ashes is a punk/post hardcore band from the Sebring/ Beloit area of Ohio. We consist of four members: Franklyn Eugene Bycraft III (vocals), Brad Etto (guitar), Matt Steede (drums), and Dan Windland (bass). We have been together just about seven months now and have released a 7-track demo that is self titled and costs $5. We recorded at 609 Studios in Bedford Heights with Don Depew. We have played with many bands such as 7-10 split,The Degenerates, The Heroics, SOC, Surviving Autumn, Horizontal Stripes, SCAP, Parwana, Insult to Tradition, and more. We may be going on tour this summer in New York with Parwana and Insult to Tradition. To contact us, email Brad at etto6969@hotmail.com. Our website is www.myinnerashes.cjb.net. Contact us if you are interested in booking a show with us.
Why this name?
We used to be called Missing In Action, but then we realized that a lot of bands probably have that name and it didn't really fit our style of music. We still wanted to be able to go by MIA so our guitarist, Brad, came up with My Inner Ashes. It fits our music better and our fans like it.
Do you play live?
Yes we play live. We mostly play in the Alliance area, but soon will be in Cleveland and who knows where else.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Yeah, it does change the music industry. It makes it so more people get to hear your music without having to go to the store and buy a cd that they might not like anyway.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, we would still sign a record contract with a major label.
Band History:
Brad, Matt, and Dan were an instrumental band for a few months looking for a singer. Brad knew Frank from skating with him and knew he was the singer of another band. Frank didn't like the music his band was doing, so he came to sing for us one practice and from then on, he was our singer
Your influences?
We like bands with a lot of energy and moshing. Our drummer likes all types of music though. He likes hardcore, emo, and bands like Dave Matthews Band. It's a good thing though, he has diversity when he plays. The rest of us pretty much are into hardcore and emo.
Equipment used:
Brad uses a Washburn X-series guitar that is light blue. Dan uses an all black Squire P-bass. Matt plays a lot of drums......ummm....they're Tama, but there's a lot of them, too much to type.
Anything else...?
The band is planning on recording there first full length CD. They plan to have 12 tracks and a lot of it is new material.
