Why this name?
Based on my last name. STEIGER.
Do you play live?
Yes..we perform around the Southern California area. The last year has been crazy opening for bands such as Geroge Lynch (Lynch Mob), Pat Travers, Dick Dale. Opening for Zakk Wylde's Black Label Society at the Whisky Halloween night was killer show.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Guitar music to the masses...
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Depending on each situation, and deal structure. Right now I can keep the music pure...
Band History:
Ken Steiger has played the role of Heavy Metal/Hard Rock instructor at the prestigious Musicians Institute (G.I.T.) since 1997 in Hollywood, California. Honors graduate from 1992.
Ken also got to work with the actors Mark Wahlberg, Tim Olyphant and Dominic West in the Warner Bros. release “ROCK STAR” the movie. He was accredited with guitar coach.
Ken currently performs around Southern California with his Instra-METAL shred band “PROJECT STEIGER”.
Ken Steiger has also brought together top notch-players from around the world to provide a new hard-hitting CD "Defiance".
Derek Sherinian, Tony Franklin, Virgil Donati and Gary Hoey were special guests, who lent rich support to the album's striking variety of heavy tunes.

The album was mixed and mastered by Phil Soussan. Phil Soussan has prolific bass credits on platinum and gold albums including OZZY, Billy Idol and Steve Lukather, and extensive mixing/producing credits with groups such as Dokken, Motley Crue.

Your influences?
Instrumental / Metal or I like to call it INSTRA-METAL. Combing all elements of Metal and Rock and applying them into an instrumental format that can be appreciated by all cultures.
Favorite spot?
Haven't found it. But if I was to say on top of Mt. Hood (Oregon) on a crystal clear day with ski's on.
