We are a one of a kind Rock and Roll band who do not stop at anything.. We have everything we need to make it big.
Why this name?
Well our lead singer and I were driving one day and saw a street called Glenn Echo and said if we ever formed a band then we'll name it that.
Do you play live?
We played live once at Peabody's Downunder in Cleveland, Ohio.
If you make it big..?
If we make it big then we make it big..
Band History:
Glenn Echo formed in the fall of 1998 by Bryan Komoff and Pat Brysh. Finding lead singer and guitarist Lee Wadlinger and bassist Lee Zartman Glenn Echo formed.
Raised in University Heights until he was 10, Pat grew up listening too 80's music but started getting influenced by music when he heard Led Zeppelin. Pat Brysh didn't start playing the drums until he was a freshman in high school when his friend, Bryan Komoff, told him he should play it so they can form a band. Pat agreed because he wanted to play like his favorite drummer, John Bonham. After his first attempt at playing with Bryan the chemistry was not there and they both went there separate ways. For the next three years Pat started listening to different types of music, Phish and Dave Matthews Band. He became increasingly better and was aching to get into the spotlight. Throughout his high school career Pat played in the Hudson High School marching band, which helped him become the skilled player he is today. By the time Pat was a senior Bryan Komoff noticed how much better Pat had gotten. Pat was heavily influenced by Neil Peart and was ready to try again with Bryan. So with the help of Lee Wadlinger, Bryan and Pat formed Glenn Echo. They played at there high school rock-fest and never looked back from there.
Raised in Hudson, Ohio all his life, Bryan was influenced by music every since the fourth grade. By the time Bryan was in eighth grade he started listening to music from the 60's and 70's and was heavily influenced by Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd.
When Bryan hit high school he got a job and purchased his first guitar. He didn't know what to do with it so he started to strum on it. Bryan then convinced his friend Pat Brysh to get a drum set so that they could form a band. They played throughout the summer and finally called it quits when they realized it wasn't working out. Bryan then secluded himself in his basement for the next two years playing hours each day to become good. By the end of his junior year he was asked to join a group called High Water.
Bryan played with High Water for the rest of the summer but by the beginning of his senior year he left the group. Bryan then started talking to Pat again and they decided to try and form a band again. This time with the help of Lee Wadlinger they formed Glenn Echo.
Lee Wadlinger was born a bunch of years ago in Camp Hill Pennsylvania, and has since lived in Savannah, Georgia, Fredericksburg, Virginia, and currently Hudson, Ohio. His musical influences are extremely wide, including the Beatles, the Beach Boys, Bob Dylan, the Velvet Underground, Led Zeppelin, Pere Ubu, REM, Sonic Youth, Pavement, and Guided By Voices. He began playing guitar in the seventh grade, along with his friend Clint Winfrey. Within a year he became a member of Panacea (also known as 7th Dimension), playing guitar, singing, and writing his share of the songs. After becoming somewhat of a local favorite, Panacea broke up in 1996. Lee started a solo career and moved to Ohio. Between 1996 and 1998 he wrote a few hundred songs, released a couple of solo records, appeared on a few indie compilations, and played a few solo shows. In the Summer of 1998 Lee joined High Water after his friend Bryan Komoff's departure from the band. In the meantime, the two worked at Acme #4 and wrote songs like "Cashier Joel" and "Probably Okay", and they eventually started Glenn Echo in the Fall of 1998, with Bryan on guitar, Lee on bass, and local heartthrob Pat Brysh on drums. After going through numerous lineup shuffles Lee switched to rhythm guitar/lead vocals and Lee Zartman of the recently disbanded High Water was recruited to play bass. In addition to music Lee enjoys watching sports, reading, and writing for the local underground newspaper, U-Turn.
Born and raised in Cuyahoga Falls, Lee grew up under the influence of Jazz and Blues. Since his dad was a music teacher Lee knew what he wanted to do from the start. Lee played the piano at the age of four, but he stopped at eight because he wanted to play a different instrument. Lee picked up the trumpet, but wasn't happy with it so he started playing the tuba. Once high school started Lee found out the he loved playing the guitar. Throughout his first two years Lee played around with his guitar, but by his Junior year Lee started to pick up the bass. At the 1998 Rockfest Lee played bass and guitar for a group called Hannibal. By the end of the year Hannibal gave up and Lee, Bob Pelander, and Chip Kalbeck, along with Bryan Komoff formed High Water. Lee played with High Water in the 1999 Rockfest, a day later the band broke up. Lee was invited to play bass with Glenn Echo and has not looked back since.
Some of Lee's influences include: Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Stevie Ray Vaughn.
Some of Lee's bass influences include: P-Nut(311), Victor Wuton, Les Claypool(Primus), and Mike Gordon(Phish).
