play lo-fi play hi-fi  So Mad
"I'm stunned, not sure what to say. I've never heard a song quite like this. I don't especially like it, but it sure gripped me." --- review of the song "so mad" by linus.
Why this name?
We couldn't think of anything else. We liked linus for more than 5 minutes. It turns out the next day we didn't like it so much, and there are like 50 other bands called linus, but it stuck, but we are still trying to find a new and better name.
Do you play live?
We play live wherever we can. It's a special moment anytime we play.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It has allowed record companies to blame something for poor record sales, when in reality, the music they keep putting out generally is horrible, with very few exceptions. We want to hear something new. Look at the industry about 5 years ago. It wasn't great, but it was a lot better than today.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Maybe. It depended on the deal. I know we wouldn't see as much money from it as the record company would, but it would probably allow us to do just music for a living and survive.
Band History:
LINUS was started in the Hole at Lincoln Christian College when Chris Allen told Matt Poppe and Michael Johnson to quit being wusses and start a band together. Given that both Matt and Michael liked the same type of music, they reluctantly agreed. Matt would play bass guitar and Michael would play the guitar. But they needed a drummer.

Before the search for a drummer could be started, Chris slipped a bit of information to Seth Dralle that Matt and Michael needed a drummer for their band. Seth, being a drummer himself and aching to play with any band that needed one, asked Matt and Michael if they were interested in his drumming skills. Being that Matt and Michael preferred to have a good drummer over a bad one, they agreed that Seth should drum for their new-found band.

After a while, for no apparent reason, the name LINUS was selected among others like JASPER, FIDEL, BOX SOCIAL, and THE PRANCING DAISIES. LINUS began playing together in November of 2002, singing songs of blasphemy, holy warfare, and summers spent playing Skip-IT.

The band enjoys long embraces, Ramen noodles, and tugging on Seth's tassles while giggling like school girls.
