Experimental ska band, Skunky Muggles has been in the Cebu music scene since January 2003. Started as a side project of half of the members; it is now a band with a distinctive sound, attempting to create ska music at another level. With the vast array of musical influences among the members, Skunky Muggles has succeeded in creating musical fusion (fusing blues, reggae, punk with the ska beat) in its compositions such as Cats & Dogs and A Skunky’s Blues, in which people have referred to as catchy and out-of-the-ordinary music. The band is recognized for its experimental sound and its two-vocal act. The group has gained further attention with its triumph at the Monster Radio BT 105 Band Breakout 2003 in Cebu; subsequently with its single “Cats & Dogs” constantly played on air. The band is also part of the Harambe Reggae Society which holds a number of ska-reggae events. So far the band has already recorded five tracks and is currently on the process of creating more songs which would then make up for a 10-track album that the band is planning to release within this year.
