merak19 was created as a soundlab with the main idea of compose original music based in geometrical drawings and numerical secuences. Most of the songs are created using ACAD designs where polygons are rotatin around poliedric shapes... all this process gives numerical secuences that lately will be translated to notes. All this experimentation is allways directed towards the enigmas of the old cabala and the primitive ancestral rites.
Why this name?
merak is one of the stars of the big bear constalation. The band beggined in 1994 as "merak", but when in the year 2000 began again with experimentation changes it`s name to merak19.
Do you play live?
Merak´s live set is more complex than music in studio. Usually play with Enrique Galdeano two great musicians from pamplona: Carlos Hidalgo from No Disc and German Ormaechea from Horthy. There are also played 3d animations and images as the music sounds.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Absolutely. It`s the great revolution for music.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
It would only depend of the terms of the contract.
