When Adam Rave (lead singer of Adam’s God) says that his music is the sound of war, he knows what he’s talking about. Having served in the Israeli army, the charismatic, sexy 27-year-old knows what the danger of war feels and sounds like. “We are in a war,” he says, “against the machine to protect art, individualistic style, creation, humanity.” And so he is aptly named Adam, for he is all about creation, being the driving force behind Adam’s God, composing the band’s music and lyrics. And like the original Adam, this rocker left his homeland, and came to Canada all alone five years ago with little more than the clothes on his back and a plane ticket he had bought with the last of his money.

Since then he has been composing music and fuelling his vision with the macabre sounds of discontent at its most artistic. His influences run amuck, from David Bowie to Nine Inch Nails, to No Doubt. The black-leather clad 6’1” singer even has a photo of him with the divine Gwen Stefani. But there shall be no false idols in Adam’s world! With anthems such as TeleviSins, Angst.com, and ballads such as Dead and Lovely, Adam rails against the false idols of our society and particularly blames the very machine upon which his artistry depends. “Being a modern-day musician is nothing if not a tough balancing act. We want to make real and hard-hitting music that will reach the people, make them feel, make them think, and we want to do that en masse so that we can expose as many people as possible to our art. But on the other hand, the only way to do so is through the machine that threatens to destroy the art. The best way to do that is to #%&* the machine!” Ironically, many of his songs denounce those very mediums that his band exploits to reach their audience.

But it’s not all toil and darkness while raging against the institution of rock n’ roll. Some people just have what it takes to get up on stage and do their thing, Adam is cool as any veteran, smiling, rousing the crowd to enjoy their rebellion, their freedom. The shows are fun and the band delivers their polished, gritty tunes while engaging the audience. But the shows are not inconsequential. They are a combination of battle cry and funeral dirge, both calling for soldiers and mourning the death of would-be allies. But with a strong following, powerful weapons, and a dark, sneering showmanship, Adam’s God will surely not surrender without a fight.

Why this name?
It seemed like the most fitting name for this project.
seeing as how I live for this music, It only makes sense that it is my only religion, the only thing I will follow blindly to wherever it takes me.
so.. "Adam's God" is exactly what it sounds like,
-The god of Adam-
Do you play live?
Were tearing up the dying music scene in Toronto.
We are playing all the leading venues in the city as well as fund raisers and special events.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet is a powerful tool when it comes to Promotions.
the amount of fans and other musicians/artists it exposes you to is huge.
Without the internet, regular people like us would struggle (like so many do/did before us) so hard to just get a song heard on the radio.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
For sure, who wouldn't?
We just need to be extremely careful as to where and who we sign with, when that comes.
A big label can push you to places you cant even imagine.
