Ambient composer, studio master, and multi-instrumentalist Grant Dawson began his musical career as the drummer for local Atlanta punk legends Liers In Wait in 1984 at age of 14. Since his early days of cutting his chops on a four-track tape recorder in his basement, he has transformed creative experimentation and the development of new forms through the use of sprawling soundscapes, esoteric beats, melodic hooks and liquid analog sounds. Along with many respectable accomplishments in his career, 2004 saw the birth of Grant's ongoing solo recording project—Sexmusic—a culmination of years of technological articulation and aural expressions.

Sexmusic provides listeners with hypnotically colorful music through signature electronic sounds and techniques. As part of the Sexmusic signature sound, Grant, an accomplished drummer by nature, uses live drum tracks to complement the array of his electronica-driven works. The music is rich, full and lush with pop culture references from metal riffs, disco backing and monster drum stomps to luscious and radiant ambient introspection. This project has the ability to both engage and perplex fans with swelling sounds, raw inspiration and sexual energy. Using a diverse palette of sounds and rhythms to create songs, Sexmusic is pure artistic expression that is refreshing in its own wandering but self-contained universe.
