Thank you for your support, making "MINT" a Soundclick top 50 song. We enjoyed putting it together and hope to have more submissions in the near future.

Scott and I met through another internet site (bandmix) and have started collaborating. It's our goal to accomplish something unique and unusual for your listening pleasure.
Why this name?
L. A. is my first two Initials and the "Starfish" part comes from Scott's original band name.

Here is his Bandmix profile Scott Webster "the Starfish" was named after the famous living biological spaceship, USS Starfish.

We were hoping people would confuse it as Los Angeles Starfish, but Les gave us up quickly.. Maybe people will forget and we can ask it like a trivia question.

We were thinking of going with "Devious Starfish" from my other band name: Musical Deviate and Scott's. That one is with Mike Hanrahan, another excellent guitarists. We do mostly alt-rock and power pop.

In the end L. A. Starfish was easy and seemed a good choice.
Do you play live?
Les played at the NJ Somerset County fair once. He had a good performance, although would still would like to crucify the sound guy. They mixed our monitors and I was listening to the vocalists, while she had my keys. The whole time while playing, the sound guy keeps asking me if it sounded ok. Not if I was busy or anything, but if he has to ask me how the world looks from far left and against the back wall, with no monitoring and the vocalists screaming at me instead. Well you just soldier on at that point and act like you know what you're doing, even if that excludes the guy at the console.

Scott plays occasionally in PA and the surrounding areas, although he prefers to remain incognito. If you have ever seen him play, you know where, when and how he plays.

If you see him, be easy as he's really not much of a people person and definitely more interested in the music.
(Thanks to the woman who cried during the performance of Invisible Light, you honor us)
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It killed the music industry per se. Easier to get music you want but now they just charge more to see the show in person. It all evens out in the end.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
As long as it passes inspection with our entertainment lawyer, we would. (see Les for details)

The A+R guy who wants you to pay between $299 and $5999 for promotion is a joke.
People, never ever pay for promotion. That's nothing but a giant scam. Don't be fooled people!!
Band History:
We've had some sessions where things went well enough and then we've had some difficulty as well.

It seems like everyone wants to go in a different direction.

We're trying to pump out materials for an upcoming project, but there's a lot of squabbling and we have some materials we have yet to finish, so were are in an indefinite hiatus until we can finish what we started.

Scott doesn't write but one song at a time and has a big completion thing, so were stuck trying to finish a tune we wrote a few weeks ago. Time will tell what happens so stay tuned, same Bat time, same Bat channel.
Your influences?
Moody Blues, Pink Floyd, Alan Parsons, Neil Young, Kinks, Jimi Hendrix, Elton John, Billy Joel, the 60's, the 70's and the truly bizarre..
Favorite spot?
Les likes Philadelphia. South street is a lot of fun. Vegas is really cool. You can act like we did thirty years ago. Smoke, gamble and drink all at the same time and place.

Scott likes Los Angeles, California. Do us a favor and "somebody check his brain".
Equipment used:
Les uses Alesis Andromeda A6, Roland Fantom S88, SH-201, Juno-G, M-Audio key station 88 ES, Korg PA80, Trinity. MOTU Ultralight MK3 with Sonar X1 on home built computer.

Scott likes 50's Fender Strats MIJ, Marshall dirty, Fender cleans, rotary speaker effects, Roger Mayer effects, Sweet Sounds Inc. Mojo Vibe, RM's Rocket Octavia, RM's Axis Fuzz, Zoom effects, Rolls RotorHorn and even the old Digitech DSP 128's for vocal effects.
Anything else...?
We have a ton of music to roll out and with god's good graces and a little luck, maybe you'll even get to hear it.
