As soon as his mother bought him his first electrified guitar, as a lil boy, it was pretty much all over for Robbie Jaramillo, songwriter, multi-instrumental musician, and keyboard mad scientist. The guitar and music was all that mattered to him from that point onward.
After high school he moved to Los Angeles to finish college. He stayed in West Hollywood for a while studying music theory with Antonio Newton and studying record engineering. After L.A. he moved to the Desert Southwest to become a hermit and take a break from music for a few years. Satisfied with his nonexistence, inspired, rejuvenated, and ready to move back into a relationship with music, Robbie headed to Houston, TX where he sang lead vocals for a local metal band. That little taste of singing with a band inspired him to learn more about it and practice his vocals and songwriting skills. Since then, Robbie has been singing, playing guitar, writing, and performing through live bands, stage plays, and many musical collaborations. He helped form and toured with the regional groups Superuser, Blue Z, Black The Sky, Shatner, Plastic Orange, and The Meanies.
Certain characteristics ring true regarding his music. It possesses this certain timbre and character that unleashes a deluge of emotion and energy. It is unrefined, rough around the edges, but strangely vulnerable at heart. The lyrics are poetic, without being pretentious. He is a new sound, with old roots!
Lately, Robbie has been studying and experimenting with ancient forms of musical communication. He's feeling the potential music gives for healing, spiritual awakening, and expansion of awareness. He will soon be involved in a musical project which utilizes Binaural recordings and the Ancient Solfeggio Frequencies.
