what up? I go by FD, a rapper/producer. i've been running aznraps.com the site for about 3 years, while rapping on the side. getting into the music industry has always been a dream of mine.. I've payed my dues through the work behind the scenes, now i'm steppin up to the frontlines on to the musical aspect of my career.
Why this name?
man if you know the acronym to the initials FD then you've probably been exposed to some of my work which is real dope.. much love. if not, stick around and you'll find out.. haha.
Do you play live?
i'm always down to jump in some freestyle sessions around my area.. but nah i haven't performed nothing major yet.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
the internet? it's real dope without it, there wouldn't be no Asian rap scene, but besides that also it provides a path for alot of upcoming emcees.. i've met people from India, Germany, New Zealand.. all cause of the web.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
hmm would it be a dream come true to work with some of those emcees you grew up listening to? hell yeah!
Your influences?
production wise: dr. dre, p. diddy, neptunes.. music wise: 2pac, jay-z, nas.. alot, i just can't get it off the top of my head.
Favorite spot?
Westminster/Garden Grove.. 714, so cal put yo' hands up!!
Equipment used:
all computer.. had some hardware like the korg electribe series.. mpc2kxl.. wasn't really feeling it. using FL pro, studio projects C1 mic, studio v3 pre-amp, audigy 2 platinum ex card (don't hate), cool edit pro, couple ath-m30 headphones.. and alot of time.
