Try depth-defying soundscapes, complex orchestration and philosophical lyrics for starters. Despite rampant comparisons of the
'neo-rock noir style'
to such bands as The Cure, Peter Gabriel, and U2, I think that I actually defy comparisons, especially with the new material I am working with.
Like any good artist, I am neither here nor there, opting not to follow in the footsteps of any particular idol, but instead wandering wherever the music takes me. However, this doesn't prevent me from perpetuating such comparisons.
"...floats in a space where Robert Smith (The Cure) and Stevie Nicks (Fleetwood Mac) are having a torrid affair, oh my!"
Or something like that.
Did I mention that Yes and Queensryche were hiding under the bed?
Anyway, whether I am the product of immaculate conception or the bastard child of various experimental indie/alt/goth rock groups is beside the point. I just like to rock.
Following in the footstepsof my last project 3SKS's (1998) hugely acclaimed 'PXC-(Happy-Death-Heaven)' I am working on a massive follow-up, themed album which I have entitled:
GENOWEN - 'Ruins'.
The trademark neo-rock-noir intensity will be clear, present and magnified in the guitar and vocal work. The imaginative and progressive bass/drum axis will be on fire no doubt this time, but new elements I believe will find their way into this album pending the arrival of newer musicians and collaborators.
Music is magic, and this music will be spellbinding.
The penchant for mood, however, doesn't come at the expense of intellect or humor. This album will not be laughing. Given the opportunity, it will wax very eloquently about the philosophical underpinnings of the death of Jonathon Brandis in the song 'Where Vultures Fly'. And nearly the same breath, offer those who have fallen, a place of sanctuary in the song 'Too Strange for Nowhere'.
"I like my audience to be enraptured and curious and confused and inspired and moved and frightened and exalted and everything in between."
I have pushed the boundaries into obscure and inventive territories, and like the legendary Bowie/Eno years, experimentation has been a key ingredient in my band's frameworks. Combining elements of industrial-rock with dream pop, melodic orchestrations with tribal progressive drum beats, all of which will glitter in the gloom.
Think of whispers and turn them into giant waterfalls of sound at a moments notice. Sometimes you hear it coming, but most of the time it will pleasantly surprise you. Genowen will wax and wane, always swirling you into a whirlpool that you don't want to leave. This is my hopes for Genowen.
At the present time I am seeking committed and very talented musicians to work with for Genowen. Please keep your eyes on my news, as I will put up little samples here and there and keep you informed on the progress. I am relying on spirit to guide me through this album. This album is for the fallen ones, the lonely ones, the ones who devastation is the only thing you can ever depend on.

Why this name?
Genowen was an accused witch, drowned shamefully before the claimed God in the early American century. I am inspired by berserkers like her, Socrates, and those that gave their life for what they believed
