Hello. We are SNAFU (tentative name, might change). We are are a four-piece indie band from the portland-vancouver area. We simply like creating good, honest music.
Why this name?
Well, this name isn't official yet, but whatever.
Do you play live?
Not yet. We are going to get a few more songs on tape, and then send them out to local venues.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It's totally opened up the underground scene. The major labels can't control what we hear anymore, and they're shaking in their boots. On the other hand, file-sharing is totally ripping artists off.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I can't speak for the rest of the band, but I would only sign if they gave us complete control over the music.
Band History:
Our current line-up is pretty recent. We started jamming in the fall of 03. The drummer and the bass player played together before, but the two guitar players are new. In the summer we hope to get together a little EP.
Your influences?
We have a pretty wide range: Modest Mouse, jazz, Jimi Hendrix, punk, avante garde
Favorite spot?
I like Portland.
