McIntyre-Harker - Irish harp and Irish flute

also Celtic music (with the Irish pulse)
for all occasions.

Got Nyah*? The Real Deal

Eileen McIntyre, Irish harp, and Lesl Harker, Irish flute, play authentic Irish dance music in the traditional way. These two ladies have been trained by internationally famous Irish traditional musicians. The result is music grounded in the tradition, both eloquent and pure. Their sound can be ethereal or foot-tapping, but either way it has an elusive characteristic which leaves listeners wanting more.

McIntyre-Harker also provides background music and favorites of the celtic sort to blend seamlessly with any occasion. Wedding selections are included in these pages, starting with the excerpt from Pachelbel's Canon. Prospective clients should feel free to use the contact link for further details.

Please note: the sound files and video provided here are field recordings, done on the fly and not studio quality. They provide samples of live performances under field conditions only (though visitors are welcome to download for private listening).

Eileen McIntyre, harp:
Eileen has provided beautiful harp music over the years for many weddings, cocktail hours, garden parties and other events.

While her training began by studying classical harp technique, Eileen’s focus has always been on Irish tunes in the traditional style. She developed her skills while performing with her late husband, fiddler Jim McIntyre. Eileen has continued her study of traditional Irish harp music with some of today’s great Irish harpers, among them Michael Rooney and Gráinne Hambly.

By day Eileen works as a certified harp therapist, playing her portable harp for the sick and elderly in nursing homes and hospitals in New Jersey and Staten Island.

More information on Eileen can be found at her web site.

Lesl Harker, Irish flute:
Lesl’s extensive experience - in harp-flute duos, music groups, and as a flute accompanist - has served her well as a teacher of the Irish concert flute.

A long apprenticeship with the late Irish flute icon Mike Rafferty firmly grounded her in the tradition, and she imparts this to her students and all who hear her. Author of the two award-winning Rafferty tune books, she teaches Irish traditional music from her home studio.

Lesl specializes in the repertoire and fluid style of East Galway, as well as music from all over Ireland. She has appeared with original Chieftains flutist Michael Tubridy & Msgr. Fr. Charlie Coen in Philadelphia, and has played for numerous events, including receptions, conferences, radio, television, and the New Jersey Folk Festival.

More information on Lesl can be found at her own music page and the Rafferty books website.
