PorticO started as a studio project we worked on between paying clients. After we had a few tunes in the can we decided to put out a full length album. We had fun experimenting with alternative beats that strayed from the usual boom boom chick, boom boom chick of rock and roll. Latin a Caribbean beats have so much life to them! The result was something that is very cool!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
This is a defining era in the music business. Will the record companies embrace this grand new paradigm called the Internet or continue to try to squash it. For us battle hardened yet still unsigned acts the Internet and mp3 are a God send. I love it!
