Why this name?
As a one man show, I would feel guilty putting a bandname to it. And since I never know for sure if my stuff will really work, I figure that "The Sean Fenlon PROJECT" seemed cautious and appropriate enough!
Do you play live?
I'm not a live player. I consider myself more of a craftsmen, painstakingly sculpting sounds, rhythms, and textures from my home studio.
If you make it big..?
I will focus the attention towards other musicians who don't settle for 2nd best.
Band History:
The history begins and ends in Sean's basement. Sean was turned on to unconventional meters & time signatures by his first composition teacher, the great jazz arranger Hank Levy (a former staff arranger for Stan Kenton and Don Ellis). The selections contained on this site represent compositions completed while completing a doctorate in music at the Peabody Institute of Music. Although Sean majored in the bassoon, he studied electronic/computer music and recording arts & sciences quite extensively.
Your influences?
Pat Metheny, Stravinsky, Bartok, Don Ellis, Steely Dan, Hank Levy, Chick Corea, Rush
Favorite spot?
Baltimore, MD
Equipment used:
A million and one sounds from - Roland JV-1080, Yahama TG55, Kawai K5, Alesis Wedge, Yamaha DMP11, and a Fox 601 Bassoon!
Anything else...?
Sean, what exactly are you? This is a one-man studio project featuring a lot of unconvetional meters & time signatures.

Why don't you use other musicians? By keeping it a one-man show, I can focus on more challenging compositions without the fears of rehearsals & performances. Please send me an email and let me know what you think.
