Father Bingo is the solo musical project of Philadelphian graphic artist and bass guitarist Mike Lebovitz. The debut album, "Hygienic Productions," is nine songs about time-forgotten exploitation film promoter Kroger Babb. Not all of Mike's songs are depressing or about obscure people from film history.
Why this name?
"Father Bingo" is a movie that was never made but heavily promoted by Kroger Babb just to spite a religious organization.
Kroger Babb was an exploitation movie producer and promoter in the 1940s, best known for his roadshow epic "Mom and Dad."

Do you play live?
We've been playing around Philadelphia since December. You should book us.
Band History:
I started in late 2000 recording a bunch of tunes in my apartment in Boston. Then I moved a few times, wound up west of Philadelphia in 2003 and finished "Hygienic Productions." Now I'm gettin' tha band togetha to play shows.
Your influences?
I listened to a lot of Eels and Pedro the Lion while recording "Hygienic Productions." But my MP3 player is currently overloaded with Brainiac, Dead Kennedys, Autechre and lots of old Ice Cube. And I watch a lot of shitty movies.
Favorite spot?
Copley Square in Boston.
