play lo-fi play hi-fi  CHICKEN or FISH (snippet)
It seems that Rappers have been talking about the art of hustling since Hip-hop began, getting money and losing it...living in the fast lane or living in the ghetto. But what distinguishes Brian Trevor, is his unique approach to tackling the subjects that everyone else has to deal with. Relationships, the world we live in and how we deal with it day to day. On his highly anticipated debut album, "What About Brian?" Brian neither boastfully brags about days hustling on the crime-ridden street corners of his native Philly or his days of struggling to make it in his second home of Long Island New York. Instead, his lyrics are laced with humorous but heart felt pearls that make us all look in the mirror and realize that when we ask the question "what about Brian?" we are really asking the question "what about us?".
Why this name?
Instead of coming up with a name that wasn't me? I just decided to go by what everyone calls me.
Do you play live?
I love performing live! It's the greatest feeling in the world. When I'm holding the mic and I look out at the crowd...it's such a high.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Mp3's and the net have changed the game so much because now so many more people have access to your music.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Hell yeah, but I still want to reach the same folks that I am touching now.
Favorite spot?
I love Philly more than any spot but Long Island is a very close second. The time I spent out on the Island changed my life forever.
Equipment used:
Akai, MPC 2000, Korg Keys, Digitech, Mackie.
Anything else...?
