Do you play live?
We play anywhere that we can play. When playing live, everyone lets loose and goes crazy and lets the music just go on its own without thinking. Its a great feeling.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Mp3s have completely changed the music industry. It is now much easier than ever before to get your band recognised.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If the label allowed us to have the freedom to play how and what we want then yes.
Band History:
Amidst the clutter in the basement of a brick town home residing in Columbia, Maryland, the sound of a tremendously talented and diverse group was born. In the fall of 2001, the members of Curbside began exchanging ideas and combining their talents to create an aesthetically pleasing, yet unique sound fueled by the influences of rock, emo, blues, and funk. The end product was an arsenal of emotionally charged, beautiful, and complex songs that has proved to impress fans in the Maryland area.
In late July of 2003, the band went into the Chicken Coop Studios with producer Scottie O'Toole to record their first demo, "Balloons, Backflips, and Drama Queens". Over four hot summer days they recorded five original tracks, including "Believe in Defeat" and the popular "Why Complain?". The recording is a proud demonstration of the style and energy that the band boasts.
The members of Curbside cite many influences - from Weezer and Metallica to Jimi Hendrix and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. It isn't easy to define the sound of Curbside, however it is easy to enjoy the poppy melodies and crazy mixture of talent and energy that that band exerts in it's songs.
The four best friends are continuously writing new songs and experimenting with their sound to find the perfect blend of hard rocking energy and the complexity of song structure to create quality music.
