We've been together since the olden times, melding music with other parts of music, riding our time camels as the deserts now become dust. Melody and power are very important to us, as are the layering of harmonies.
Why this name?
"Pearl Jam" was already taken.
Do you play live?
Yes, most often at coffee shops, and sometimes bars when the occasion arises. We love to play live, either acoustic or electric. One bright and shining moment was when Josh humped a small plastic statue of Santa Claus. It 'twas the season.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet and the use of the mp3 format are extremely helpful for unsigned artists. It allows a global audience and easily tradeable music.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, but only if it did not compromise our artistic control over all aspects of our music.
Band History:
The band Cops on Acid was founded by Josh Barnes in 1996, and since then has had many members. The longest-lasting and most trustworthy being Billy Belsom, who has joined Josh in his mission of rock for many years now. The band has had several names, culminating in the name "Cops on Acid." In the past we have been formerly known as The Adultolescents, Audio Distortion, Nightbeast, Pearl Jam 2, and Men With Hats, among many others.
Your influences?
Nirvana, The Beatles, Beck, The Beach Boys, David Bowie, R.E.M., Primus, Radiohead
Favorite spot?
Right here in sweet Monroe, Louisiana.
Equipment used:
A speaker wire in a can.
