I have produced urban music since early 80s until mid 90s. After a period of let's say a working pause, I recently picked up the old habit again and started to produce electronic music, like psy-, progressive trance, techno, hiphop and such. The kind of trance I produce can't directly be defined or placed into a sub-category. Some say my tracks are like stories with an atmosphere, think movie- or game based. The way I use and love percussions is probably the reason why a tune would stand out from the ordinary.
Why this name?
The name cresk is one I use all the time. I used this name a lot for my design projects. It's short, simple and clean: probably the way I like my projects to be.
Do you play live?
I don't play live. I am a producer type of person. I'd rather play behind the spotlights.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
yes, this has drastically changed within a few years. But long-term spoken not necessarily in the saddest way. I think it was time to be more inventive and find out new ways to promote fresh music and profit from it. The way music has been distributed is kinda old and doesn't fit in today's technology anymore.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Honestly, I really don't know. Maybe I'd rather start a white label i guess.

Your influences?
Influences come from all places or different things, like movies or emotions for example. Sometimes, I get really inspired by classical masters, original timeless tunes, or the electronic equivalents like the Orange Theme from Cygnus X or the live sets of Mauro Picotto for a change. Jazz is also one of my greatest inspirator because of my passion for percussions I guess.
Favorite spot?
I have seen many spots and many cities, but I will tell you my favorite when I have seen them all.
Equipment used:
I used to have lots of gear but I switched to a soft-studio which I am tweaking on a daily base. Cubase was my first sequencer on an Atari ST with the Casio FZ-1 Sampler attached, and of course some fx processors and a couple of hardware synths. I Really loved this combination a lot. Today, Reason 2.5 is probably the best thing since sliced bread when it comes to a creative and productive environment. I think Logic beats the sequencer-only market in a snap because it's robust, quite professional and hard to ignore. Cubase is still king of small, medium and semi-professional home-based studios all over the globe. I still haven't decide which one I truly prefer.
